What is the difference between counselling/therapy and coaching?
Counselling tends to deal with events, trauma or negative feelings in someone's past and the objective is to help the individual to come to terms with their past where it has lead to those thoughts and feelings having a negative impact on their current state of mind. Coaching is generally only concerned with the present and the future. Whilst some note is taken of your past, the focus of coaching sessions is to move you forward.
